letters to our daughters - january 2013 edition

Dearest Mackenzie

This month we celebrate 12 years shared with you.  It's the anniversary to the end of selfishness and birth to the desire to be more and do more in efforts to give it all.

My dear I'm so beyond happy about the amazing woman you are shaping to become.  I couldn't be more proud to call you mine.  You are everything I hoped for and so very much more.
Expectations of you are and will continue to be high, but you never disappoint.

Within the last year, you've stepped up to the plate even when daddy and I failed.  The twins couldn't have been blessed with a better sister.

The past few weeks have been rough ones for me and your help and compassion is appreciated.  I promise to make it up to you, we will have a proper birthday celebration.  Thank you for not showing a bit of resentment even if for valid reasons you may have felt it.  Know that it IS and always will be a big deal to me.

My lady this past weekend, you put it down in the gym!  I'm so proud of my 1st place gymnast.  Gymnast body you have not, but commitment and heart, you've got plenty.  And for that, you are a winner.

Mack, continue to make us proud, make us laugh, and keep us moving.  It keeps us young!!!

Love you baby girl...not the most...but always and forever the longest.

pardon my crappy gym pics and head over to jennifer warthan | the cottonwife to see her letter this month.  i adore her beautiful work!

whoa, look at her go..I took gymnastics from 6-9th grade...even private lessons and tried SO hard to just be able to do a back handspring...never was able to (I was too tall, lanky, and no muscles) so I have total and complete admiration for gymnasts...she is gorgeous and so are these images..xo Hope! Glad to be on this journey with you too!
