happy friday!!!

this week's theme is "earth".   last friday was "earth day".  i love what earth day represents - a call for us to be better stewards.  admittedly though,  this theme stumped me so i looked to quotes for inspiration.  that's one thing i love about photography.  inspiration can be found most anywhere and in anything.

52 fridays 15 | 52 time of day

this week's theme is time of day. 

for this prompt, i've chosen to capture "golden hour".  in photography, this is defined generally as the first and last hour of sunlight.  it's categorized by soft and diffused light with a warm or "golden" hue.  photographers love this light because they don't have to worry about harsh shadows and/or bright highlights.

my girls go to bed pretty early at 7 p.m. so we are usually in for the night at golden hour.  but... long late naps for us all last sunday resulted in wide awake babies at bed time.  so...we went out and captured the light...

unbelievable, but we are at week 14. in the heart of downtown tulsa is the bank of oklahoma tower - a 52-story skyscraper.   one of the tallest buildings in this part of the country.  and the most well known financial institution in the state of oklahoma.   this week's theme is money.   bank of oklahoma pays my bills :)  i've worked for bok for the last six years.

in the midst of a tornado watch, i stopped and got this shot before heading home from work yesterday.

i love black and white photography.  some images just beg to be converted.  unfortunately, i didn't take any such pictures this week.  but... i did get some funny, cute, and silly shots of another one of my adorable nephews.  this is little robin.  he's so cute.  i'm not really into rap music, but even i know who t.i. is.  my nephew robin reminds me so much of rapper t.i. 

here he is with his many faces...in black and white (i know i totally cut off his side here.  his little sis was trying super hard to get in his shots.  i had to cut her off! :)

we've made it to week 12 in this project.  this week's theme is food - something that i love.  i'm pretty passionate about a particular kind of food though...cake!  i love cake.  but not just any cake.  i love pretty cakes.  to my palate, they taste better when they are custom, ooak, and pretty.   here is a cake that i had made for my friend brandy's baby shower.  it was made to match this shower invite from etsy seller andbear
